OUR
HISTORY
American Railroad Equipment has its roots in the 91 years of scrap processing
and recycling of our sister company, Cycle Systems, Inc. During the decades
of the 1980's and 1990's over 400 retired and surplus locomotives were
dismantled. The parts were qualified properly and sold to a variety of
customers. In the year 2000, ARE was spun-out on its own and since that
time has dismantled and sold parts from over 200 units. The power concept
was born out of this experience.
OUR
FACILITIES
Since our start-up we have expanded and grown. Our 100,000 Sq. Ft Plant
on 5.3 acres in Roanoke, Va. now has 3 operating overhead cranes, trackage
with ceiling clearance through the 600' length and a 20' work-pit. A full
locomotive shop! In addition we have leased an adjacent 30,000 sq. ft.
secure and clean warehouse for the assembly and system intergration of
our power plants, as well as storage of electrical equipment.
OUR
CURRENT INVENTORY
Maintaining a Big Inventory of qualified parts is the heart of our marketing
effort. A detailed listing of this Current Inventory can be found on our
web site americanrailroad.com. It is organized in an easily accessible
format following the pattern of the major sections of the EMD and GE Parts
Catalogues. On many parts we have tried to add both pictures and prices.
We encourage written request by e-mail or fax; prompt phone clarification
will follow.
OUR
PEOPLE
